Breeding Cichlids are pretty aggressive. Depending on the tank size, those Cichlids will probably kill anything that is in it's territory and threat to it's fry. What kind of Cichlids are we talking about? Tank size?

Put a 6" bichir (choose your flavor) and it'll make those tasty fry go absent... And they are preety much left alone by cichlids if they are big enough... You shouldn't keep the PH too high as they prefer a PH less than 8.

I'd be worried about that bichir getting too big and killing some of your cichlids. I had a senegal that murdered a 4 inch iridescent shark when it was only 7 inches. An African knifefish might work in your setup if you get it big enough, like 6 inches.

get a large aba aba and it'll eat them all. Or an electric eel. But for only the fry... try a clown knife. It might do the job, but then it could get bullied, or vice versa, it would eat everything.
