soooo still wandering what size tank brock has and how he is doing 100X turnover rate... hell i do 4500gph in my 280 and the current is pretty forceful....
Imagine 100x turnover for a 300 gallon tank. At 30000 gph, forget the current. How on earth do you pay the electricity bill...

I think you would need maybe 4 or more swimming pool pumps at about 1.5 horsepower each and a 3 phase electric hook up and a large dedicated supply, each pump would need 1.5 to 2" tubing and the filter would normally be sealed and running around 15-20 psi...my pool runs one of these pumps and it bruises my hand if I put it in the way of the suction and saftety guards need to be put in place....just one pump would pull the fish and the sand clean out of the tank I think, if not blow it all to one end. I cannot cover the venturi return back to the pool with my hand as the pressure is way too much.

I do not think this would be practical for me.

My Star Brite is the Rolls Royce of pumps, it generates massive heat and it is enclosed in a log cabin a bit like your Tank room....The cabin is atleast 30 meters from my house and I have to have it on a timer to go off at night as this saves electricity but more than that it keeps me awake at night if I have my windows open.....and it is huge!
