I use melafix for probably 10 years I'd say and even over dose here and there and never had issues... Strange

I also have been using Melifix, did overdose one time and lost fish though.

It's oily. Reduces dissolved 02 levels, if you don't increase aeration, fish can suffocate.

x2. Also, make sure do water change, before adding melafix.

I never have any issues with melafix even with over dosed by miscalculation my tank size. I got cichlid tank and those fishes commonly pick fight on each other so I used melafix for fin/tail healing process.
