Cut Ventilation - Craftmanship skills may vary. Semi-circle ducting connection with fan PULLING hot air out.

Cut Intake. As much as possible without removing anything too structurally important or from the "water-proof" bottom. (See "Triangle" another was cut opposite to one shown.) Drill holes for more air through the ballast.

Cover mogul socket with a dirty sock to avoid metal shavings interference.

Punch out holes.

Attach ducting.

Connect Assembly.

Black to Black, White to White, Green to Green. Wire nuts, Electric tape, Connect and Test.

Firmly attach to ceiling? Zip ties will be replaced by small chain. However, zip ties do meet weight requirement and heat parameters.

If the lighting fixture was not going to be enclosed inside a hood or canopy I don't think you needed to go thru the trouble of installing the ventilation duct and fan. You could have just hung the light up and left a little space from the ceiling.
