Depends on the fish and how well it gets to know you. My convicts are just as much of wet pets as my Oscar

I have to agree. I have a 3 year old male convict that does everything an oscar is known to do. He eats from my hands, greets me, follows me around, he knows the difference between me, family and other people, he watches tv, watches everything.
He investigates everything after I move things. I found this really strange for my convict to do though. When hand feeding if he nips my finger he pulls away and looks at my face kind of sulkingly as a dog would when it realizes it accidentally bit you during playtime. I've never seen my oscar or severum do that. The severum never bit me and the oscar just doesn't care if it does as long as it gets it's food.

Each has their own personality I've noticed and all equally great wet pets.

Oscars are pretty personable... they are kind of wimpy and can;t defend themselves so be careful what you put your oscar with...

Another vote for Oscars.

I'm not saying that all of them are personable but they definitely can be. ;)
