Also my bba problem is gone:)

Larger water changes, reduced light and feeding and Siamese algae eaters and daily dose of liquid carbo apparently worked for me, not sure if it's one of those changes that did it, but most likely all those factors combined is a good way to go!

Very pleased with myself:)

Do you think it would be ok to add some jewel cichilds?

I'm not worried that they will eat my cichilds, but that the cichlids would destroy my knife fish and/or bicihir?

Any thoughts appriciated...
Also, how many jewel cichlids could i keep?

A non-breeding jewel will be fine with bichirs and clowns.

If they pair off and start breeding though.... the polys are strong enough to be fine...
Thanks a lot!

I'm thinking of adding all males, but not for a while though.
I want my clowns to get some size first, and accustomed to feeding so the jewels don't hog all the food.

Holy ****...

The smallest of my hujeta jumped out of the tank in the middle of the night.
I have lid, but it's a tiny gap for hoses at the rear, just covered them up.

I found it under my tank covered in dust...

Dropped it in the water, rubbed of some dust and it seems ok, swims around fine...

Will look for signs of disease in the coming days and do a new water change do remove introduced dust.
Also need to secure my lid and whatever gaps more carefully before rope fish is added..

Lucky me I took of my headphones for a second, other wise it would have dried out...

I'll update you tomorrow after school to see if it's survived the night....

He has survived the night!

Looks and behaves normal!

And I'm getting a couple of more hujeta's on Saturday, still undecided on jewel cichlids.
Also might get a couple of more bichirs as well, I've ordered 4-6 different species, will take a look and see if there's any I like.
And African butterfly fish will be added on Saturday, thinking 1-3 specimens.

Still waiting for rope eels to become available.

So glad he's okay, that's scary! You absolutely want a very secure tight lid. Hopefully you can get it fixed up :)

Yeah, I can't believe he did it though, the lid is heavy!

I might get some leopard bush fish as well on Saturday instead of jewels if they deliver.

Still waiting for rope fish to be available for order

I think jewels look great, but I'm afraid they'll harass the other fish.
And I'm only keeping the clown knife fish until they get to a size they can fit any of the other fish in their mouths

So you decided to switch from the community tank to oddball huh? Lol those oddballs are amazing, ropefish are nice to, my two arent the most piggy of eaters but they are in a grow out so they can get food.
