Kido- when i was a kid , i used to buy feeder guppies.. they were sold by the bagfuls.
I believe they called it "isdang kanal"? (LOL) are those the same as the mosquito fish you described? Sorry to derail!

there are actually 2 kinds of isdang kanal.. one is the guppy and the other is the katabas (mosquito fish) the katabas grow bigger so they are more popular to use as feeders.. about 4-5" adult and very fat when pregnant

its easy to switch fish from feeders


toss in feeders one at a time so the fish recognizes the splash with food, do this for 3-4 days until the fish is full


starve for 3 days, throw in one or two feeders to get them excited, then throw in same sized piece of frozen shrimps, if they dotn go for it starve for a week and repeat the process
