Anyone that has experience in piping with drilled tanks knows that a 1/2 bulk head is bigger than a half inch.

Problem is, I need it to be 3/4 and a bulkhead is far to big for that hole. Anyone have any experience or idea's to get me to a 3/4 pipe.

There is another small issue. Glass bulkheads, sealed in place roughly 8 inch squares in the corner. So just doing a silicone seal and trusting it is kinda hard to trust IMO. Plated or not plated I don't know and I'm un-aware of how to check if it is though I do have a builder sticker on it. But drilling it I should just plan on having to remove the bulkheads anyways to drill it and reseal the tank while I was at it I'd imagine.

Sooo....some help please.

So you just need to drill for 3/4" bulkheads?
that's not a big deal. If you drill with the tank upside down you don't have to remover the overflow boxes I believe.

and there are all kinds of adapter pvc parts. buy the right size bulkhead for the hole you've got and adapter it down.
I don't really understand why you'd need to restrict the current size. going bigger usually isn't the problem, it's when the current hole is too small that you can run into issues.

If you go to jehmco.com or macmasteri, they have detailed descriptions of what bulkhead to buy for the size hole you have.
And I agree you never want to constrict, always go with the largest pipe that fits the hole, less chance of getting plugged and overflowing the tank.

I found drilling my tank to be very forgiving. i bought 1/2 pvc and a half inch glass drill bit. no bulkheads. the hole drilled obviously wast big enough. i just moved the bit around in a circular motion until the hole expaned by 5mm.
pushed the pvc through and siliconed her up. No problems! everything is working perfectly no leaks no cracks

although obviously this is the wrong way to go about things and i dont recomend doing it at all. just my experience, thats all.
do your research. talk to the guy at your local plumbing specialist place. they have the best advice because they know the products they stock

I had a bigger bulkhead than hole issue when I upgraded my bulkheads ( schedule 40 to schedule 80). I placed a piece of PVC pipe through the hole that stuck out about half an inch. I used it to keep the glass drill bit centered while enlarging the hole slightly.

Have you guys drilled your tanks that are plated glass? Mine has the nice sticker " PLATED GLASS DO NOT DRILL". But you never know, could've been put there and the builder sticker could reveal differently.

Gill blue - Problem is I'm going to hook up an FX5 to the pipes, at half inch it will build back pressure and blow my pump. While I know about all these adapters using 1 half inch piece in the entire assembly is still like using half inch entirely because it is a restriction.
