Need an Id

I picked up this fish this afternoon. Not really sure why. At first I thought it was a Midas or red devil, but now I really have no idea what it is. The fish store had no idea. They deal mostly in salt. Help me out with a Id on this guy. Thanks

Amph. hybrid most likely. Reddish fins hint at some FH in the mix.

At least my first instincts don't seem to be that far off. Its the most peaceful fish in the tank currently. Thats why I thought it might not be a midas or red devil. Its about 6" right now. I got it for $6. Now I'm really hoping my TSN doesn't try and eat it.

looks like a RD x midas, unless you got it from a reputable breeder (rapps, etc.)

yeah, common rd/midas cross most likely. based on the body shape, my first guess is that it's most likely female but no guarantee on that.
