need good filtration for a 75 gal tank

Completely depends on the capacity of the filter, I would go with a canister or a sump, but for a beginner I would go with a canister rated for at least a 100 gallon (they tend to say they can handle much more than they actually can)

I like canister filters myself, But since you are new to the hobby, i would recommened HOB(hang on back) filter as they are easy to clean/maintaine and cheaper.

i have a pro clear Dimensions- 27"L X 12.25"W X 18"H
Capacity- 200 GAL OR 900 GPH
BIO AREA: 5.9 GAL
SUMP GAL: 19





and a mag 9 so my turnover in my 75G is about 7-8 times per hour

aquaclear hob 100g filter would handle it nicely. then maybe the one you already have on the opposite side. thats as far as cost and maintenance. but if you have the money canisters are great
