So I ordered driftwood off of Amazon. It came in today. I took a close look at the driftwood and packed tightly into the cracks were these mini BBs. I'm unsure of what it is from. This is my first time using driftwood and was wondering of anyone could give me any advice on this. This is going into my new world cichlid tank and was wondering if it would be harmful. Any comments, concerns, or questions are welcome! Thanks

Real wood or fake? Those look more like metal slag than bbs. Are they all uniform in size and shape or kinda random pieces of metal?

BB's like you shoot out of a gun. Sorry I'm from hicktown Illinois....

Very tiny circular balls. They are a metal material. And yes real driftwood.

They could potentially harm the fish but if they are lead they aren't too harmful ( think plant lead weights) although caution may be required

They look like shotgun pellets.

I have heard of some people either bead blasting or sand blasting drift wood to remove outer bark and give a better look that is one possibility I would contact the seller for more info before putting it in the tank though IMO
