currently they are in a 120 gallon. with 3 Pbass. soon they will have the tank by themselves

They are beasts I have a pack of 15 biggest.being 10 inch. How old do you recon they are? Also where did you get them are they wild caught at that size? What are they currently eating aswell. Sorry for the all the Qs I have a bit of a loach obsession haha

Nice. I’m curious myself about the age. How long does it take for a CL to get 15 inches?
I have a small group of 5 but they are small the biggest is only 6 inches.

Most likely 12-15 years. Typical growth rate for these guys seems to be 1” per year. There’s always an exception to the rule that 1 will grow much faster than the other.

The only CL's that I have seen in the 14-15" range, were 20-25 yrs old.

I should add to the above comment, the 14-15" CL's that I spoke of, were seen by myself and many others in person. The LFS owner got them when they were approx 10", and had them for 15 yrs before he sold them. So I think 25 yrs would be a pretty good estimate as to their actual age.
