New Life Spectrum has a new product out on the market called Hex-Shield. It's designed to treat S. vortens aka Hexamita. Along with the typical NLS high quality ingredients it contains Metronidazole, Magnesium Sulphate (epsom salt), Garlic, and some various flavor enhancers and immune stimulants.

I believe that it comes in 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm pellet sizes.

Definitely a medicated food that I would be feeding to newly acquired fish, especially hex prone fish such as flowerhorn - which is why I'm posting this topic in the FH section.

Cheers!

No problem, hopefully it will save some fish.

IMO skinny disease may or may not be caused from internal parasites such as hexamita, so if this food doesn't work, if you haven't already I would strongly recommend trying a deworming agent, such as Levamisole. http://www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/levamisole-hydrochloride-1

Thanks RD, gonna start them on the pellets once I get them. And if not I'll quarantine and try the lev. Hopefully ill be successful in that. Would you consider prazipro as an alternative to lev?

Yes, certainly. Praziquental (PraziPro) is an anthelmintic cestodicide which is effective at treating tapeworms, flatworms, & flukes. So if your loaches have tapeworms Prazi would do the trick.
