I'm about the same wpg as you however my tank is 2 and a half feet deep - he's got an aqua pod a lot less uv displacement by depth

Im thinking of buying the longer 40 Watt bulbs and putting them in the unit so I will probably be at 4 Watts per gallon depending on actual water volume they calculated and what. I think im going to plumb it for 2 maxi jet 1200 pumps so ill have lots of water flow. Now I am just looking into water testing kits and water additives and what to see what's out there. My cheap tank will be another 100.00 added to it really fast. Should have purchased the led Bio cube maybe that I saw a while ago at least the lighting would be good forever. But I got this tank for 50.00 so adding some nice upgrades and spending a little will be fine.

I got that on a standard 20 gal so mine isn't very deep either.
