Hey guys just looking for some pointers, I was thinking of trying my luck with adding an emperor or oscillated snakehead to my odd ball tank of assorted bichirs gar and fire eels and was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with them in a large oddball community and if so what steps can I take to kind of hedge my bets for it working out, if it does fail I’m more than prepared to house him alone but would love for this to work out

Where you from? If usa i pretty confident all snakeheads are prohibited. But to answer your question. Ive never heard of anyone successfully keeping large snakeheads in commtanks. Snakeheads are grumpy *******s with a nasty bite.
im Up in Canada and I believe only the striped snakehead is illegal for import all the others you just get absolutely bent over if you’re caught releasing them, I’m having trouble finding info on them in community but there are plenty of videos of them in that setting, probably for the best not to chance it though, get the feeling these guys would do a bit more than just damage the fins of another fish if it came down to it lol, thanks for the response
Emperors make amazing large oddball tank occupants! Yes they have individual personalities but mine is a pussy cat.. hungry as if it’s food size it’s gone but otherwise a lovely addition. Here is mine with MH old fahaka and CA cichlids

I agree with this emperor, fahaka, midas and FH in a commtank is not what you see everyday.
Shout at your fish! They know I am the boss.. when they fight etc I get my hand in there and tell them off..I am not even joking.
Thank you, it was a long term process and the pictures where the zenith of that process . Sadly my fahaka died 2 months while I was in holiday and now I am in reboot, based around the emperor and a black wolf fish. But it just goes to show what can be done
