I would do that totally but the 40B they are in is having nitrate issues, I can't get them pulled down and I'm not sure why. That tanks on hold for additions at the moment.
Nitrates huh. How many fish are in the tank and do you have any plants to help like hornwort or java moss? If you just can't get them down do what I did when I was having nitrate problems in my 30T, 50% daily water changes for a week and see if that helps.

I'm pleased to see that at least a few people agree that the cyprinids should receive some recognition around here.I called for them to have their own forum some years back.Such a large family of fishes should have a forum devoted to them in my opinion.

My latest addition to the mixed tank. Can't wait to add more of these. I also have longfin zebra danios, longfin blue danios, longfin leopard danios, scissor tail rasboras and a few others in there with some tetras.

Very nice! I love the asian carps, just not in our waterways :). What size tank is he going in!
I don't have it anymore a restaurants tank started to leak so the fish lab at the college I used to go to took the fish in. I took the smallest grass carp home for my tank until there tank was ready for fish again. I'll try to find some more pics we had a couple mirror carp for awhile. This is a cool thread I've never kept chubs before but I did used to work at a restoration facility called native aquatics and we raised a lot of native chubs, darter and suckers.

if you guys are interested about monster cyprinids , you should check for the topmouth culter(culter erythropterus ) , yellow cheek carp (elopitchtys bambusa) ,black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus) .These are often overlook fish , in my opinion they are as interesting as any arowana , peacock bass etc
