Well unfortunately I have to come to this thread. Question for you guys. I have 2 hrp, 2 FM, a convict, 3 juvi JD. I can't recall the last time my tank had ick...its been over 10 yrs. so this is why I'm writing cause I want to be certain this is ick. I as just feeding the fish and noticed the spots. It seems 1fm, 1 JD and 1 hrp have the spots. Now I know if one has it its just a matter if time. Below are pics of the fish. I've read Guppy's post and I have a 75. Would this mean adding close to 3.1 cups of salt? From his reading it says 2 tsp per gallon so 150 tsp?
Also my FM and JD can handle 86degrees
My HRP max 82 and convicts max 84 degrees
With guppy saying up the tank to 85 with the hrp and convict that's to high. How would I go about this

Does look like ich. Would add 1 tsp per gallon and raise heat to 89 degrees. A degree per hour.

Can do up to 3 tsp per gallon (total) total for the tank if still not improved. Gotta keep it this way for several weeks especially after spots go away.

I salt and up the temp. In this case temp increase and for ick is appropriate. Temp increase I wouldn't advise for any other infection.

Salt is good for most infections. It helps produce slimecoat and relax respirations in stressed fish.

I say the salt should be fine.

Either use the salt or use the Quick Cure. Don't use both at the same time. I've had good results with both methods. With the fish you have either one should be fine. Good luck.

Also, if you use the Quick Cure I would not increase the temp. Some of those meds tends to decrease oxygen levels and increasing the water temp would just add to that.
