Thanks! I don't know what the problem seems to be. Before only about half of the eggs would turn white, and the other half would hatch. But now I guess he's just doing a horrible job and not fertilizing ANY of the eggs?
Yes, I'm 100% sure the fish are not eating the eggs.

Maybe putting some sand or gravel on the slate before they breed might help, the thinking is that they will have to clean the gravel or sand off and in the process may clean the slate better to provide better sticking?
