Got just the tank at auction, painted back black, and then went DIY :)
Even the filter had to be modded, as when I cut down the intake, it would no longer fit in it's slot. Lighting is a cut down 5000k 13 watt from an eclipse 12, so hopefully it will grow what I want.

Add a loop of wire to one corner and you can put it on your keychain. :D

Or you could grow a moss ball in it and let people ask where the fish are. ;)

I like the second idea! The moss ball strung with fishin line so it floats halfway frmo the bottom and that driftwood would look nice. Just fill the tank with old tank water for the nutrients!

I was going to originally, but it's at college now, and figured since it has to be rebroken down in 2 months, just to do planted for now.

Planted now, pico reef maybe later. Either way, I have a lot more fun with the smaller tanks, seeing how much I can pack into them.

Thanks, haha and it's just a gallon of milk, which when I put a gallon in, also filled the thing, due to the water displacement of the driftwood.

Yeah, it is pretty small. I just thought it would be funny to build a canopy and stand to make it look more rediculous. Beats the traditional "office tank" imo. I do like floating moss balls, but at the same time, I want it to look more natural.

Yeah, its a bit over a gallon after you factor in the driftwood. I was pretty happy with the result.

I like those too, however I think I want to keep this one more natural?
With planted I thought you were supposed to do RO or distilled? I don't know though... as I'm new to planted.
