Can’t believe you remembered the name…think I only mentioned it once lol!
Yep, they butted heads all the time, there would always be scrapes on the leporinus, but nothing major. Then out of the blue his fins are all screwed up and he’s missing half his eye.
That piranha also took the lips of a Texas cichlid, they will lip lock…and then but the fish in half.
Moral of the story is just keep piranhas alone…unless in a huge tank (I’ve seen a large display with rays, plecos, pacu, silver dollars, leporinus, and flagtails).
At the end the leporinus got the last laugh though. I think he scared the piranha into slamming headfirst into the wall, and died.
