This thing has no give at all and if I force it...it will likely snap the clip or somewhere else.

warm water helped...man that went on hard...thought is was going break. Yes I know it's backwards in this picture.

Getting them on is somewhat difficult, as you described.
Getting them off is nothing short of impossible. I guess mines (2 tanks, 2 FX6's) are in there forever, even if I removed the filters.

yes - hard to get on / off may be impossible - ive broken a few -

It may look impossible, but a little heat will do the trick.
I almost broke the ones for my FX6 when I was setting up my tank.

The trick is to cut the clip down before you install it. The fx6 clips don’t fit tanks 125 and above without modifying it. The funny thing is that those filters are made specifically for tanks of that size.
