To say something "is affecting" something, doesn't tell the whole story.

Two things can be equally true: I agree with above, if they're breeding, they're fine. At the same time, it could be s-l-o-w-l-y affecting them as well. But it's like the controversy surrounding lead in artificial turf. Yeah, it may eventually hurt you, but only if you live, breathe and eat on the stuff for 20 years. As long as the fish aren't spending their entire lives in those particular tanks, they should be fine.

There's a version of the "amazing GOOP" line of glue that is called "plumber's GOOP."

It's not for use on potable water lines. It IS amazing stuff, adheres to basically ANYTHING. It hardens to be pretty hard, but still flexible. It is usually removable when reasonably fresh (few weeks) by just peeling it off. Dries translucent white.

And yeah, I'm sure the fish are alive. Doesn't mean they haven't been affected.
sorry to revive a dead thread but i believe carbon would bo a long way soaking up any harmful chemicals that may be slowly leaching from the goop
