I was thinking about it and I will probably use the pond armour. I would make it bigger, but I don't think I have enough room. I want to build the tank 360 gallons. It will be 6' x 4' and 2' tall.
I have to build the shed in a small side yard and there are trees and a star cover that I have to work around. My goal for the shed is to have a 360 plywood tank, a 240 a 55 and 6 40 breeders. I have the 55 and 2 40 breeders. My plan is to get 4 more 40s build the 360 and hopefully find a used 8ft 240.Well one of the nice things about building something - aquariums and sheds included - is that you can build it to fit your needs. If you were planning on an 8x8 shed, making a 10x10 will cost only a small amount more but will allow a tank that's 2' bigger
How big shed you building? I've got my new tank in a 10' x 10'.... Wish I had more space, but housing prices here in Vancouver are crazy... Probably around 8' x 14'. 360 will go in the back, six 40s and utility sink will go on one side, the 55 and 240 will go on the other side. That is the plan. I will probably change the final tank arrangement after the shed is built. I am going to use these double stands for the 40s http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=9883. The 65 gallon one works for 40 breeders. I have one stand and 2 40s so I will need to get 2 more stands and 4 more 40s. I will get the 40s at petco when they have their dollar per gallon sale so I can get them for $40 each. How big shed you building? I've got my new tank in a 10' x 10'.... Sounds awesome! I know I shouldn't get ahead of this, but what are you thinking of stocking the 360 gallon with?Probably around 8' x 14'. 360 will go in the back, six 40s and utility sink will go on one side, the 55 and 240 will go on the other side. I think either can do fine, fish dog used pentair mad has lasted years without a leak(other than Windows) I used pentair initially but sprung a leak after about 4 months. I ended up re coating with pond armor simply because I could next day ship it with Amazon. So far it has held another 2 monthsI want to use pentair epoxy. At first, I wanted to use pond armour, but it is really expensive and I read that the pentair epoxy is stronger.
