I've had issues with the boxes getting plugged up. And you have to pull the whole thing to clean. The Beckett has 5 sponge filter on top that you can take off and spray out then replace without turning off the unit or removing it from the tub.
I’m not anticipating needing a UV sterilizer either, do you have a pic or link to the one you’re referring to? I’m seeing a lot of different onesThey don't have a UV sterilizer. I've never used one. Lots of plants seem to keep the alge down.
