Not sure on exact grain size but mine isn't much bigger than the estes ultra reef, but is heavier and settles faster.

According to Red Flint's website there pool filter sand is 0.45 – 0.55 millimeters. I am waiting on a quote from them, also going to go check the local pool store today.

Local pool store is where I got mine but it wasn't the red flint. But it was only 10 bucks per
50 lbs.
