What size tank does a snakehead need?
Depending on type as small as a 20g for rainbows and as large as 12'x6'x4' for a full grown giant snakehead.

I doubt this will appeal to you either, but a breeding pair of convicts are just about the nastiest fish I've ever seen. Yes, that includes wolf fish, snake heads, etc. I've never had another fish bite a feeding stick hard enough to have it make a sound before I had a pair of 6" convicts with fry.

Also, since I can't figure out how to edit yet, try a few female M. Auratus. They're a Malawian cichlid that grows to about 4". That's how I got rid of the aforementioned convicts. These females took out both parents and all of the fry, then turned on themselves and all but 2 of the original 6 were offed. This was in a 55 gallon tank.

You can find them in the mixed-bag cichlid tanks for about $6 each, and they're a really pretty yellow and black.
