So I have 4 sajicas, 1 for sure female, and 2 for sure males and the other I'm thinking is also a male. If I end up with 3 males and one female would it be wise to take the 2 other males out that don't end up pairing up with the female or would they be fine in the tank with the pair since there is a few other species in this tank with them since it's just a growout tank. All the fish in the growout will be moved to a 180 gallon and 365 gallon. The sajicas im planning on putting with my vieja in the monster tank. Any advice would be great. The sajica around pushing the 2 to 2.5 inch range now

I would take them out and just leave the pair, given the slightest opportunity a pair would claim the whole of the 180 gal tank

When are they going in to the 365? You said they will be going into the 180 gal first

During the same time I move the south americans to the 180. I'll be moving the sajica and vieja melanura to a 365 gallon early next year. If problems happen with the pair causing too many issues I'll probably just get rid of the female and keep the males. I'm more going for a show tank anyways more than breeding and raising fry for now.

I would get rid of the female then and keep the 3 males, it will also save your vieja from getting nipped or killing a protective pair
