There are many leaves whos rips are melting some plants every leaf is like that i should cut off the whole leaf?
Yes, the whole leaf. They don't do any good to the plant anymore. It's just spending energy into something that will never recover. Trimming plants forces them to regrow under the current conditions.

Guys i just tested his water for him. Hes on the right track getting just under 10ppm of nitrate. But the ammonia is out of control @ around 4ppm.

What would cause this ? Only 4 oto's in there with 20ish plants and some snails. Could it be the potting soil ?

Im gonna advise him to do heavy wc and keep testing ammonia. Wait 24 hrs then redose with the safestart

Yes, it's the potting soil. I'd do heavy water changes if it were me. I few back to back to get that ammonia down to 0, then daily large ones. A planted soil tank cycles faster than normal but it still needs it's time and if he wants the fish to live then the effort must be done until the tank cycles.
The Tetra safestart normally calls for no water changes but I don't trust it, especially not in a 4ppm ammonia.

I'd sterilize the plants one way or another to prevent introduction of unwanted diseases.

How is the tank going?

Can you post a few pictures of different times of day. I'd like to see how the plants are progressing.

The tank is cycling, so it's normal having readings for ammonia and nitrites. Every new tank does. Just do water changes. Those fish may not die outright but you'll see a chain reaction down the line of either diseases or they just simply won't last till Christmas.
