I’ve had this snook for a while and was wondering if anyone could tell me what species this is. Sorry for the poor quality, this fish hides a lot and I haven’t been able to get a better picture recently E151A84A-B46D-425B-9C0F-63C3E8776987.jpeg

How big is it and how fast has it grown?

Unless you know where it was caught and can count dorsal spines and rays it will be almost impossible to agree on id. Even on the larger fish in the post supplied an actual id could not be agreed on, even by snook “experts”
From the photo supplied only I would suggest most resemblance to swordspine snook but it is only a guess without more info and better picture.

Hard to ID from the pic but spine doesn’t look long enough to be swordspine. Just IMO.

I’ve had him since about around February. I got him from fugupuff’s Suriname shipment. It’s grown 1-2 inches since when I got it (1 most likely)
