Spotted Gar lump

Any idea what could this lump possibly be?

I noticed the lump a few days ago and yesterday it has grown (or so it seems).

It doesn’t seem to bother the fish or makes it lose its appetite. I’m just concerned what could this be and if it is life threatening.

Could be a tumor or growth. If it’s acting fine then leave alone. It could get bigger and start to affect the fish and may have to surgically remove which could involve a vet if you really want to treat it.
