Just ordered a new tank after getting rid of my 200L due to a house move.

Gone for a solid oak 400L tank running on a fluval fx5 but need help with stocking suggestions. I know I want to add clown loaches and some smaller tetras/neons but unsure about other mid/high swimmers. I was thinking about tiger barbs but don't want them stealing all the loach food! Any ideas?

Thanks!

Seriously though slick you want to consult

www.thetropicaltank.co.uk

click fish index.

ps u might want to change your photo as that isn't the aquarium you ordered, makes it looks pretty deep. You're aquarium is 160cm long which gives more (real professional) options like.

Also, remember that clowns are native to borneo therefore live with lots of different types of barbs. If you want to keep your setup realistic, you should consider some barbs. Not all are small, some can get 6-7 inches and go well. (some get Muuuuch bigger than that ie tinfoils)

For example red line torpedo barbs get to 6 inch and are good mid water swimmers with awesome colours.

Or what about cherry barbs also http://thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/cherbarb.htm

Although tetras are amazonian, they go well having a large shoal and clown loaches, my favourites are neon blue light tetras.

These rasbora are pretty cool picture does not do them justice a shoal of 6 or 7 look pretty cool and they swim like silver sharks which is pretty hypnotic.

A mixture may be best, who knows.
