Want to keep a plotypterus.. eyes on the delhezi..

Anyways..

When sizing one of these vs tankmates.. a 3" Oscar with a 3" bichir.. is the Oscar going to see it as food?

How would a festae pair get along with a bichir in a 125? (probably a silly question...)

The Oscar may try to eat it, if not he will quickly out grow the del and eat it no problem

I would probably try to find a slightly larger (4"-6") or at least decently thick delhezi to go with that size of an oscar. I would also introduce the bichir first. If you give the bichir a couple more weeks to beef up, get some hiding places established, and some comfortability, adding an oscar should be a bit easier. Try to see if theres any aggression between the two in the first couple weeks. You may see some within the first few days, because they're getting to know each other so don't be too alarmed by that (unless one is doing more than nipping fins). After that try to make sure that they both get enough food to grow to their potential and that one doesn't steal the others food and hinder it's growth.
