I plan on keeping it in a 55 gal, sg around 1.005-1.015. I'd love to keep a few knight gobies or even a puffer with it, but I'm not sure if they'd get along. I've read some horror stories of morays trying to eat puffed puffer fish and both dying.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but a lot of people say that you need at least a 125 gallon for them. Or at least, for a group of 5, which is what you would need to spread out the aggression adequately

I don't know about the moray with the Knight Goby, Scats were my other suggestion , but I see they will outgrow 55 gal. too.

Type in gymnothorax tile tankmates in the search bar, and see what other members have kept with theirs with success.

Does anyone know if a GSP would be a good tankmate? I was thinking about a figure 8 but the eel would probably try to eat it

Not sure about the GSP, they went after my eel's food before he got a chance to find it. F8's were a little better, but the best tank mate I had was a dragon goby. Similar salt requirements, different food, and, most importantly, to big for a moray to choke down!

Yeah, but don't dragon gobies get kind of huge? At least, for a 55. At this point I'm thinking two of the eels, some nerites, blue leg hermits, and possibly rudolph shrimp.

They get big but literally lay there all day. They are pretty active at night though, I used to see mine swimming everywhere at like 3am

I've only had these 2 for a week and night is the only time they really come out. I even have to feed in dim light
