tidepool sumps

Does anyone use Tidepool sumps(Marineland)? I've had mine for two years without any problems, just curious if anyone else is using these....thanks

I have one on a 125. I think it works just fine in conjuction with an aquaclear 110.

I've always loved the efficiancy and quick responce of the bio- wheels so I've used a number of them over the years with very good results. The larger tidepools in fact work great on small ponds when used in pairs.

I dont know what a tidepool sump is but I have made and used flushing sumps before. Is that what you mean? A flushing sump ensures 100% of the media is wet/dry and all the air is expelled so its fresh each time. Other advantage is the wave created since the dump is rapid and this can oxygenate the tank.

No fishdance...entirly differant concept...the Tidepool is built by Marineland and is based on the same type of bio wheel wet/dry as the Penguin and Emporer line of power filters in a larger...sump type format.

I've seen things in swimming pool stores that look like huge biowheels.

I picked them up and checked them out and they appear to be made of very similar stuff.

I was so close to making my own "Tidepool" you don't even know,I just wasn't sure.......whatya guys think?
