Ok so I have been growing out some of these guy and I managed to get a pair. they have been in breeding color for about a week, so two days ago i added a piece of drift wood and today i look in the tank and they laid eggs on the driftwood and are guarding the eggs. the are in a 20 long with a pair of egyptian mouth-brooders and other Ruweti. My question is when the eggs hatch do i keep the fry with the parents or separate the fry

It's always fun to watch the parents move around with their fry! Ruweti are good parents, but you are always going to loose a few fry by keeping them in a community tank. If this is their frist brood I would keep them in the tank with the parents.

I decided to keep the fry with the parents since this is the first spawn and they are excellent parents guarding the fry and everything
