So I managed to but an old marineland ml-26 150 gal tank for $100 that was used in my local red lobster. Everything worked on it except the chiller unit. It's 6'x30"x 18" and made out of 3/4" glass panels and a fiberglass tub. The downside was that the tank was built into the stand and not meant to separate so it was insanely heavy and couldn't be maneuvered around tight corners. As well as the stand looked hideous after being poorly painted several times. So I cutoff the tank and rebuilt the stand. Here was the original with the doors all removed.
here is the tank separated from the stand. It is upside down because during moving some plumbing was broken and had to be fixed.here is the stand with all of the paneling stripped off. I added the ring around the top to make the stand a bit higher and to leave a place to attach a canopy. the second band was made to attach to the bottom of the tank. This gives the tank enough height so when it is set down it won't break the plumbing. I re-paneled the front and side. By using this paneling I concealed the 2 front doors and side access panel. then I repainted the inside white and designed a canopy to hold my 4' t5 light. stained the tank, attached the canopy, and made removable handles out of 1" dowels.
