Anyone on here listen to a lot of Undie? I've really gotten into it within the last six months or so.

Just wanted to know if anyone had any favorites they'd like to share, things to discuss, etc.

As of now, my favorites are:

Blue Scholars, the beats from this group are amazing.

Sweatshop Union, really like the "harmonies" of this group.

[YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MrC-yum82MI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MrC-yum82MI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

Greydon Square, my favorite without a doubt, the most realistic rapper i've ever heard. Most of his new (my favorite) album is not on youtube, so i couldn't get any of his best songs.

[YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ksWM9cyclIs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ksWM9cyclIs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

Immortal Technique, up until his "The Third World" album, all of his stuff is great. He's a little "white-hating" for me, but most of his stuff is good enough for me to look past it.

[YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bv7w200rrcs&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Bv7w200rrcs&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

Louis Logic, i guess he's Underground, he's got some of the sickest instrumentals, and most controversial songs i've heard. The following song's instrumental version is currently my ringtone.

[YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gvNshDvAN_w&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gvNshDvAN_w&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

Anyone else? :)

Really like Atmosphere, except for his emo songs.

Never could get into the Dilate Peoples or Jedi Mind Tricks, not sure why, just don't like their styles.

Had never heard of Visionaries prior to this thread, but i really like that song, i'll be putting some of them on my Zen, thanks. :)

I hate the term "underground". Underground bands/artists are just bands that are too crap to get lifted off the ground or haven't had the opportunity. I don't know many bands who would dismiss the opportunity to go big (unless they were to be signed to a crappy record company) purely for the sake of "the music", if people said that they would be lying.

I was reading metal hammer and found the band Gojira. I went on youtube and saw people having these fights that Gojira are so underground. wtf? if they were "underground" they wouldn't be on metal hammer

What would you prefer it be called? A lot of Underground artists have been offered record contracts, but refused because they couldn't continue to cover the same subject matter.

Immortal Technique, for example, has recieved offers from Def Jam and (i think) Sony. But he refused.

I really like some of Aesop Rock's songs, especially Holy Smokes, but most of his newer stuff just sounds like he's reading out of a thesaurus. I never though of Mos Def as Undie though, i guess he is. I really like his New Danger album.

That particular song by Louis Logic? Or Louis Logic in general? Most people dislike that song because they think it's racist, but if you listen all the way through, it's not.

I really like Louis Logic's completely uncaring style, but to each their own.

Have you heard the talk about about a Black Star II album? Supposedly going to come out sometime next year.

That would be great, Mos Def and Talib Kweli are a great combination.
