Yes, I don't want to spend Jacques Cousteau money ;) From what I saw from Google Searches people were just putting some of the better water proof Security cameras into their ponds. So perhaps spending $600 for the camera(s), and DVR systems. I'm just assuming some 'waterproof' security cameras are more waterproof than others. If you Google Search for koi underwater camera you can find 'Bonnie's' solution but she doesn't seem to use it or sell it any more. And of course there is no mention of the actual Brand or model so you could get it for 60% less from something like Fry's or other electronics store

It appears that a camera compliant to IP68 Standards would be waterproof enough for a Koi Pond. Some appear to cost under $200. I am going to do some more research, and if I buy something I will post results.

Here's a GoPro 200 without any extra light, dipped into my rubbermaid Gymno stock tank, or course as stated above, battery life is short, and this is hand held.

A simple solution would be to put a regular webcam into a waterproof enclosure
