hi all.
i have four o's in a 25 gal tank.haha
before you kill me they are all 8 to 11inch in sice.
im currently building a 160gal tank for their new home.

now the problem is.one of the guys started being bullied.since then he doesnt seem so intrested in food and when he tries getting some, the now twise his size other oscars take all the food.

i want to seperate him from them and try to feed him so he can gain some size again.
then when the new tank is done introduce him first as to gain some confidence.

please give some good advise if you guys see problems in my reasoning.thanks

The best thing you can do is hurry up and finish the 160 gallon. You really need to get them all in a bigger tank. Four o's of any size in a 25 gallon is rediculous...even one of your oscars is way too much for a 25 gallon.

for the time being you could get tupperware or rubbermaid containers to split them up. You can get these containers bigger than that of your tank you have them in

Oh thank god. Still not really good, but much better than what I thought. But yes, more space will result (hopefully) in less bullying, which will yield less stress and a happier, healthier fish.

I agree with the suggestion about the rubbermaid tubs. You can hang a filter over the side of it, and suction a heater to the inside. I'm sure the Oscars will be much more comfortable until your new tank is finished.

This is why pet smart should not sell oscars... :wall:

Id say do a 50% water change everyday and keep them divided until the 160 is up. Id get on that asap..
