Just checking if anybody else has experienced the same thing with their cichlids. I have a pair of freddies whose behavior changes depending on whether the lights are on or off. When the lights are off, the male and female get along great and do a good job of protecting their young. However when the lights are turned on, the male starts attacking the female (to the point where she hides) and then starts eating their fry. This has been going on for about 18months now.
