I have only read that expression on THIS board.

How do you perform this ?

And how much faster do PACU grow this way?

Thanks,

It is something you do not want or need to do. They grow more than fast enough on their own. Only fish I've owned that I swear grows while I'm looking at it. Powerfeeding would be keeping it constantly fed with multiple smaller meals, the way atheletes do to bulk up.

I see...

Right now the new Pacu is about 4" and I am feeding a diet of shrimp pellets.

I hope it grows quicker than I expect.

It is a beauty for $ 5.99 at local PetSmart.

Offer lots of fruits, veggies and algae wafers. They love that stuff too.

The problem with Pacu is NEVER growing too slowly...if a Pacu dosn't grow fast enough for you them I strongly recomend a new hobby because you DON'T have the patiance for this one...LOL

I honestly belive that 'power feeding' is a term that was created by the members of MFK. The rest of the world just calls it what it really is....OVER FEEDING...LOL

Powerfeeding is mostly a term used by reptile keepers, not created by MFKers, mostly in reference to growing large boas and pythons to enormous sizes quickly lol. Anyways, it's always bad news, causes health problems and grossly shortened lifespan.
