What is sticking out of my acara?

I noticed my sort of new acara has something white protruding from his vent/anal area. When I first bought him/her I treated with paraguard and triple sulfa to treat any possible problems. That was about a month ago. He’s since been moved to a 90 gallon and is eating well, swimming normally, and seems perfectly fine. I noticed yesterday he had two white points hanging down from his vent area. I sat and watched for a bit and he passed a solid brown stool but the swollen looking white parts did not change. I’m assuming one of the white tipe I’m seeing is a breeding tube but what’s the other??

Looks like a breeding tube, and probably not a prolapse if you were wondering. My male angelfish also has a 2nd "tube". I thinks its actually a weird long scale that constantly hangs in front of the anus, though you might have something different.

Or maybe your one breeding tube just happens to be pointed on two sides.

I do not know anything about Acara but think the breading tube or appendages most likely answer , not seeing any kinda prolapse.

looking it up seems to be a male Acara and to have it showing is typical.

seems in the female they call them blunter tubes,

think just part of the fish. I guess you could get some fish panties lol, kidding.

Not to be rude but you might want to make your own thread including your tank size, tankmates, water parameters, water change schedule and any other important info. This way people can better assist you and your specific fishes needs without derailing this thread.
