Injuries like this are very rare in TSN if they happen at all.
My take is this is a mutant. The deformity is commonly seen and is referred to as a "duck-bill" and some other names. It varies in severity and this is on the high end.
Vast majority of TSN we appear to get in the ornamental trade appears to be the culls from the farming industry. They weed out underperformers like this mutant.
It is and I guess will be pretty hard to tell the species even after it reaches some size, like 2', which usually helps to ID "normal" TSN.
