I have an update to my earlier list. Due to 3 new additions (3" Pbass) to the 75gal tank I was forced to upgrade the filter system... it now has a turn over rate of 9.5

Very much south..
I am sorry guys, but, IMO, the turn over rate is not what is most important...One can have a Ferrari turn over rate that it simply doesn't filter well enough...water should circulate slower for the filtration to be apt..again, IMO

Thats generally the possition of anyone who can't see past the 50+ year old wet/dry system however the basis of the thread was the most overfilthtered tank and was obviously lighthearted in nature. I fail to see the reason to turn the thread into a debate over the merits of differing filtration systems. Turn over rate is a measure of filtration capacity in relation to the size of the tank in sealed systems in much the same way as sump size is in wet / dry systems.

~200 gallon

Underflow/overflow system with 3kg of Bacteria House in a "bakki shower" in the overflow.

Around 70lbs of ceramic media in the sump, with all the water first passing through almost 2' of black bio sponge in the first two compartments.

Final compartment contains 2 diy coil denitrators and the return pump (2400gph)

The display also contains a powerhead, a piece of driftwood, and a few little fish... :D
