i think we call them silvers because we can't agree on what alse to call them, they do have a broad spectrum, maybe someday they'll all be sub-species variations.

All the "fully grown" silvers (3 feet and larger) I've seen were actually more white than silver in color. I'm speaking from having seen silvers in exhibit at Shedd and Sunshine Tower Aquarium in Tokyo.
Most of the aros are X bred anyway.. it's hard to get a good quality aro without going thru the paper work and certificates. Mine is a silver and it's very silver mind you I've gotten it insured and micro chipped. it has all the certificates etc.. SO DON'T GO BE STEELING IT!
