why my tem. color faded? please help

I bought this temensis a few months back. he got nice dark spots and strips at first but since came home his color faded... any reason why this is happening???

The color of your substrate may be affecting it's color. If I remember correctly, a lighter colored substrate can make their colors appear washed out.

Its due to the light substrate and bright lights.....try putting a black background on the tank and dim the lights a litte

thankyou for replying, i just watched some video on YouTube, a lot people have white sand substrate.and bright light but seem like they have no effect on the fish. can you guys think of anyother reason?

I always have a black background on my tanks for this reason. Sorry forgot to mention. Plus I think it makes the tank look way better. All the decorations and fish pop with a black background. Spray painting a tank is easy, cheap and it dries fast so you can do it yourself :) Just gonna have to take the fish out
