First off before I say thing I want everyone to know I take all opinions seriously but with that said. I believe Gar are kind of a give and take fish. If you keep them fed they are great community fish, I've kept Gars with everything from a 1" Dwarf African Frog to a 12" Needlefish. I have never had problems except for when there was like a Feeder shortage and for some reason they always attacked the same species. Rubberlip Plecos, which I honestly believed was my fault because I inserted my first Rubber Lip Pleco into the tank minutes after I added Feeders.
