Many hoses are infused with a chemical to keep them supple/ flexible, and this chemical can be dangerous for fish. Better to use an older hose that the chemical has over time washed out of, or a non infused hose.

You can get a 25 ft RV hose at Wal-Mart in the automotive section for a nine dollar bill.

+1 exactly what I got but mines blue but its basically the same thing.
