I just bought a L155 Polka Dot Lyretail Pleco - Acanthicus Adonis are they rare?

Not too rare, but when they get to a large size is pretty rare.

They lose their spots as they get larger. The largest one I kept was 10" not counting trailers, became vary aggressive to any other pleco. Left the other fish alone, however seeing the Ray in your avatar. I would not trust him in the same tank with the ray..

I had a 10" fully spotted and very active.
I loved him until the day he started ripping the skin off large cichlids.

They are still fairly commonly seen, but they are not L155. Acanthicus adonis never received an L#, as they were scientifically identified before they could have one issued.

I have a question when I first purchased my spotted lyer tail. He looked like this. Now his color has dulled tremendously and I'm kinda scared that I'm doing something wrong. Please HELP!!!
