Puffers Can Jump!

I recently got a figure 8 puffer that I was keeping in a 12G brackish tank. I had raised the water level quite high (I think it looks better that way) cos I though puffers wouldn't be able to jump out.

Anyway, this morning I found him dead on the floor. So if you also thought puffers couldn't jump ... think again!

Lesson learned!

I hear ya there. My puffer jumped out of my tank twice. Fell 7 feet. The second time he did it, he fell between the stand and the wall and I had to flush him out with a garden hose. Only way to get him out of there. Make sure its a heavy lid on top cause they can knock it off.

I had a fahaka bail once. Luckily I was in the room at the time. I was suprised he did'nt puff up.

Before he made the great leap, he was very active scooting up and down the glass all around the tank. He'd only chill at the bottom after a meal.

yes puffer can jump and they need a big tank a figure eight puffer needs
at least 15 gallons for one puffer buy him self
